After 9 years successful years,The Skarabeez are still going steady. They decided to change their name into The Backbeat Collective to cover all musical influences they play.

The Backbeat Collective play from Rhythm & Blues, Swing, Jazz to Caribean Calypso. All are inspired by the authentic fifties Ska. Same band, new name. Same guys and lady, new retro style. Same feelgood vibes, new vintage look. Same dance music, new musical explorations.

Back home

This trip needs a sequel, it was way to short. Thank you Leipzig, thank you Mighty Sounds, thank you Erfurt. It was really great to play for you! Next stop: Nijmegen - Vierdaagse feesten.

Start of recording new album

The Skarabeez are happy to share that we'll start recordings of our next album coming Saturday! We don't know yet when our new master piece will be finished, but we'll keep you posted.

Good start of 2011

Our new key player, Han Versteeg, proofed to be a very good addition to The Skarabeez. His roaring Hammond was trilling. We are now preparing for Den Bosch next Saturday. 10 Beez on stage. All eager to shake your body! Be there...

Ending of the year 2010

Yesterday, we ended our year at Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. It was a very nice gig, although it was freezing outside -6 degrees centigrade. Next weekend we will go into a log cabin to try and record some new songs. Next year it is going to be good, very good.

The skarabeez summer tour

The Skarabeez are planning a Europe tour for this summer. The Skarabeez are playing at the Mighty Sounds Festival in The Czech Republic. They are still looking for some other venues to complete their tour. Stay tuned.
