The skarabeez

Nederlands - Deutsch

The Skarabeez shows the cool and retro sound of pure and authentic ska with its swinging horn sections, steady upright bass, cool organ and bluesy guitars. You can clearly hear influences from all the ska giants such as The Skatalites and Laurel Aitken as they play with positive dancing vibes that will knock you right off your feet!

The Skarabeez were formed in 2002 and have since played with a number of great bands such as: The Selecter, Rude Rich & the Highnotes, Mark Foggo's Skasters, Luie Hond, Pannonia Allstars Ska Orchestra and many more. In 2004 The Skarabeez recorded their first EP "Skank 'Till Your Face Falls Off!" followed by "Is This What It's All About?" in 2006, this then lead to the release of their debut album in 2009 with "Rudy’s Night Out".

Since 2002 The Skarabeez have played more than hundred gigs in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands, Including a number of open-air festivals, ska-nights and the Dutch Popronde in 2008.

With a mix of ska, swing, and rocksteady, combined with catchy 'sing-a-longs', The Skarabeez bring new life to the authentic ska sound!
